| Hypothisis | A hypothesis is a testable idea or explanation that leads to a scientific investigation. |
| Dependent Variable | A dependent variable or outcome variable is the factor that changes as a result of manipulation of one or more independent variables |
| Independent Variable | An independent variable or test variable is the fact that is deliberately manipulated in an investigation |
| Observation | Observation is the process of obtaining information by using senses. The term can also refer to the information obtained by using senses. |
| Data | Information gathered by observation or experimentation that can be used in a calculating or reasoning. |
| Model | A model can be a visual or mathematical representation of an object or system |
| Engineering | Engineering is the use of scientific in mathematical knowledge to solve practical problems |
| Technology | Technology includes the use of tools. Materials are processes to meet human needs. |
| Prototype | Prototype special models built to test a product |
| Trade-off | A trade-off means accepting risk and exchange for benefits, or giving up one benefit to gain another. |
| Risk-benefit analysis | A risk benefit analysis compared to risk or unfavorable effects to benefit benefits, or favorable effects of a decision or technology |
| life cycle analysis | A lifecycle analysis is an evaluation of a material on energy used for manufacturer transportation sale use and disposal of product |
