theory a scientific theory is a well-supported explanation of nature
law a scientific law is a description of a specific relationship under given conditions in the nature world
experiment an experiment is an organized procedure to study something under controlled conditions
hypothesis a hypothesis is testable idea or explanation that leads to scientific investigation
dependent variable a dependent variable is the variable that changes over the course of the experiment
observation observation is the process of obtaining information by using the senses
independent variable an independent variable is the variable that does not change over the course of the experiment
data data is the information that you get in your observation or experiment
model a scientific model can be a visual or mathematical representation of an object or system
engineering engineering is the use of scientific and mathematical knowledge to solve practical problems
technology technology includes the use of tools, materials, or processes to meet human needs
