| Empirical eveidence | is all the measurements and data scientist gather in support of a scientific explanation. empirical evidence can be in many different places as in field or laboratory work. |
| theory | A scientific theory is a well supported explanation of nature. |
| law | A scientific law is a description of a specific relationship under given conditions in the natural world. |
| experiment | An experiment is an organized procedure to study something under controlled conditions. |
| hypothesis | A hypothesis is a testable idea or explanation that leads to scientific investigations. |
| dependent variable | The factor that you measure or test in an experiment which changes in response to the independent variable |
| observation | Observation is the process of obtaining information by using the senses. |
| independant variable | An indépendant variable or test variable is the factor that is deliberately manipulated in an investigation the hypothesis determines what the independent variable will be. |
| data | data are information gathered by observation or experimentation that can be used in calculating or reasoning. |
| model | A scientific model can be a visual or mathematical representation of an object or system. |
| enjeenering | Engineering is the use of scientific and mathematical knowledge to solve practical problems. |
| technology | Technology includes the use of tools materials or processes to meet human needs. |
| prototype | prototypes special models built to test a product. |
| trade off | A trade off means accepting risks in exchange for benefits or giving up one benefit to gain another. |
| life cycle analysis | A life cycle analysis is an evaluation of the materials and energy used for the manufacture,tranportation,sale,use and disposal of product. |
| Pugh chart | Pugh chart is a table used to compare the features of multiple items. |
| risk benefit analysis | A risk benefit analysis compares to the risks or unvaroble effect of a decision or technology. |
