Some N4 Grammar

Past tense (~た / ~ました) | 昨日、ラーメンを食べました。 Talk about something that happened in the past | I ate ramen yesterday.
て-form | 朝ご飯を食べて、学校へ行きました。 Connect actions, make requests, describe ongoing actions, etc. | I ate breakfast and went to school.
~たり~たりする | 週末は映画を見たり、本を読んだりします。 List example actions ("do things like...") | On weekends I do things like watch movies and read
~から | 日本語が好きだから、勉強しています。 Because; gives a reason | Because I like Japanese, I study it.
~ので | 忙しいので、行けません。 Because (softer, more polite) | Because I'm busy, I can't go.
~んです | 電車が遅れたんです。 Gives an explanation or background information | The train was delayed, you see.
~と思う | 明日は雨が降ると思います。 I think... | I think it will rain tomorrow.
~と思った | 彼は先生だと思いました。 I thought... | I thought he was a teacher.
~が好き | 音楽が好きです。 Like | I like music.
~が苦手 | 数学が苦手です。 Not good at; not comfortable with | I'm not good at math.
でも | 日本語が好きです。でも、難しいです。 But; starts a new sentence with contrasting information | I like Japanese. But it's difficult.
けど | 日本語が好きだけど、難しいです。 But; connects two ideas in a casual way | I like Japanese, but it's difficult.
が | 日本語が好きですが、難しいです。 But; connects two ideas politely | I like Japanese, but it's difficult.
のに | 勉強したのに、テストが悪かったです。 Even though; expresses a surprising or disappointing result | Even though I studied, I did poorly on the test.
~ても | 雨が降っても、行きます。 Even if; expresses a hypothetical condition | Even if it rains, I'll go.
しかし | 日本語が好きです。しかし、難しいです。 However; formal way to introduce a contrast | I like Japanese. However, it's difficult.
