What is the BP goal for pts w/ DM <130/80
Pt >35 yo with breast lesion, (-) mammography, benign physical exam. Next best step Biopsy (always go for biopsy in pt >35 if option available; else pick the one that most aggressively follows the mass)
DT Diphtheria toxoid + tetanus toxoid for kids < 7yo
Td Diphtheria toxoid + tetanus toxoid for adults > 7yo
DTaP Aka DTP (peds) for diphtheria toxoid, tetanus toxoid, acellular pertussis. Given at 2, 4, 6, 15-18mos
Tdap Same thing as DTP except for ages 10-64yo
Tetanus Ig Passive immunization
5yo pt comes to clinic for well check. Had 4 sets of DTap already with 4th one at 4 yo. Does he need a DTaP booster shot No, schedule for DTaP is 2, 4, 6, and 15-18mos. If child had all four shots according to schedule, he gets 5th shot/booster DTaP at 4-6yo. If child has 4th shot after 4yo no booster.
11 yo pt comes to office for well check. He had 4 sets of DTaP as child. Does he need a booster Yes, kids 11-12yo will begin their “adult” Tdap booster at this point. Boosters thereafter will be Td every 10 yrs.
20 yo pt comes to office for physical exam. Had 4 sets of DTaP as child and unclear if he had a tetanus shot/booster. What do you give him Tdap as first booster then Td q10yrs thereafter; the first booster should be Tdap before any Td thereafter
Pt 25 yo comes into ED with deep, dirty wound to foot. He said his last tetanus shot was >5 years ago. What do you give him Td vaccination + tetanus Ig
