| же | No straight definition (it is a strengthening particle/усилительная частица and it puts stress on an idea/puts stress on the word after.) [Ex: где же живут is where EXACTLY do they live.] |
| ведь | Since, after all, you know? (Introduces or shows something obvious, confirmation, and it can also be used as the word because in the middle of a phrase) {Ex: Ведь ночью люди спят is You know, people sleep at night or People sleep at night, you know?.} |
| бы | Would, could, if (It also softens words and makes sentences less direct/real. It is often placed after a stressed word in a sentence. Past tense is used right after most of the time) [forms as б after vowels] |
| ли | No straight definition (It creates a yes-no question, combined with negative particles it creates a rhetorical question, and can be used as a word similar to whether/if) |
| вот | Here is, there is, that is (can also be used to show amazement in the beginning of a sentence like: вот подонок means what a scoundrel!) |
| ну | Well, all right (Very simple it means either or as in English) |
| даже | Even |
| только | only, just (past tense), barely (limits possibility), as soon as (limits narrative) |
| всё-таки | Nevertheless, in the end, all the same, after all |
| всё равно | No matter what it stays the same, anyway, regardless, still, in any case (It expresses indifference and inevitability) |
| хоть | at least, even if, even (in comparison) [Ex: хоть бы не опоздать means If only I don't arrive late. Ex2: хоть дождь, хоть снег means whether rain or snow Ex3: хоть что means anything at all] |
| разве | Really? (Expecting negative answers) |
| неужели | Emotional version of ли (Used at the beginning at the question when expressing surprise or disbelief, also in some cases expressing hope or fear such as: Неужели всё конечно? means Is it really over?) |
| как бы | Kind of, hypothetically, like, so to speak (implies hesitation, irony, lack of commitment or a question that begins with imagine) |
| просто | just, simply, no reason (sometimes means "so much it is obvious) |
