TermDefinition
Wavelength The distance between two adjacent crest or troughs of a wave.
Electromagnetic spectrum All the frequencies or wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation.
Spectrum A range of electromagnetic radiation that is ordered by wavelength or frequency, such as the band of colors that is produced when white light passes through a prism.
Probe An uncrewed vehicle that carries scientific instruments into space to collect scientific data.
Artifical satellite Any human-made object placed in orbit around a body in space.
NASA The National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Spinoff A commercialized product Incorporating NASA technology or "known how" that benefits the public.
Launch The process of setting a rocket or spacecraft in motion.
