| Wavelength | The distance between two adjacent crest or troughs of a wave. |
| Electromagnetic spectrum | All the frequencies or wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation. |
| Spectrum | A range of electromagnetic radiation that is ordered by wavelength or frequency, such as the band of colors that is produced when white light passes through a prism. |
| Probe | An uncrewed vehicle that carries scientific instruments into space to collect scientific data. |
| Artifical satellite | Any human-made object placed in orbit around a body in space. |
| NASA | The National Aeronautics and Space Administration. |
| Spinoff | A commercialized product Incorporating NASA technology or "known how" that benefits the public. |
| Launch | The process of setting a rocket or spacecraft in motion. |
