Name the four elements of self-defense Non aggressor, Necessity, Proportionality, and Reasonable belief
What is the retreat rule? You have to retreat from an attack if you reasonably that you're in danger of death or serious bodily harm.
What are "Castle Laws" ? Allows individuals to use reasonable force to protect themself.
Why is proving criminal conduct important? It is necessary to hold an individual accountable for the crimes they commit.
What are justification defenses? This is where defendants admit they were responsible for their acts but claim under circumstances what they did was right (justified)
Justification and excuses are Affirmative defenses
What is defense of Home and Property? The right to use for e in the defense of on persons, family, habitation, lands, or good is one of the natural and unalienable rights of man.
What is the Choice of Evils defense? Justifies the choice to commit a lesser crime to avoid the harm of a greater crime.
What is voluntary consent? Consent that was a product of free will
What happens to victims of long-term abuse and domestic violence? Battered woman's syndrome (BWS)
