| Metamorphic Rock | Formed from heat + pressure |
| Deposition | Sediment being dropped |
| Erosion | Sediment being moved |
| Weathering | Sediment being broken up |
| Continental Crust | Rock under land - Granite |
| Oceanic Crust | Rock under ocean - Basalt |
| Rock Crystals | Formed with high heat + pressure |
| Clast (Rock) | Small piece of rock |
| Sediment | Small piece of rock |
| Intrusive | Igneous rock formed slowly underground |
| Extrusive | Igneous rock formed quickly on surface (Volcanic) |
| Lava | Melted rock on surface from volcano |
| Magma | Melted rock underground |
| Foliated | Metamorphic rock with an alignment of minerals |
| Precipitate (Rock) | Sedimentary rock formed when solid minerals come out of solution |
| Geology | Study of earth and rocks |
| Geologist | Person who studies the earth and rocks |
| Pressure | Force exerted on something |
| Plate Tectonics | Earth is broken into plates that move due to convection currents |
| Convergent Boundary | Plates moving towards eachother |
| Divergent Boundary | Plates moving away from eachother |
| Transform Boundary | Plates slipping past one another |
| Earthquake | Violent shaking of the ground |
| Volcano | Laval comes out from mantle |
| Stratigraphy | Analysis of rock layers to determine relative ages + events |
| Igneous Intrusion | Magma comes up/between rock layers |
| Fault (earthquake) | Break in the rock |
| Rock | Solid made from minerals |
| Mineral | Naturally occurring, solid, inorganic, definite chemical composition, ordered atomic structure |
