| Sea-floor spreading | The process where new ocean crust forms and spreads outward. |
| Divergent boundary | A place where tectonic plates move away from each other |
| convergent boundary | A place where move towards each other |
| Transform boundary | A place where plates slide past each other |
| Subduction | When one plate goes under another plate into mantle. |
| Ocean trench | A deep valley in the ocean floor where subduction happens. |
| Tectonic Plates | A large piece of earth's crust that moves slowly. |
