| Endocrine | The system of glands that produce hormones to control things like growth, metabolism, and mood. |
| Excretory | The system responsible for getting rid of waste products (like urine) from your body. |
| Gland | An organ that creates and releases specific substances, like hormones or sweat. |
| Pancreas | A vital organ that acts as part of the endocrine system by producing insulin and glucagon. |
| Kidney | The "filter" of the body. It cleans your blood and turns waste into urine. |
| Neuron | A nerve cell. It’s the basic building block of the brain and nervous system, designed to send electrical signals. |
| Neurotransmitter | A chemical messenger that jumps the gap between two neurons to pass a signal along. |
| Hormone | Chemical messengers that travel through the bloodstream to tell different parts of the body what to do. |
| Receptor Protein | A "mailbox" on the surface of a cell that receives specific chemical signals (like hormones). |
| Target Cell | The specific cell that a hormone is looking for. Only cells with the right receptors can "hear" the hormone's message. |
