| inherit | to receive genes from a parent |
| sexual reproduction | the process in which two parents pass on their genes to create offspring |
| asexual reproduction | the process in which only one parent passes on its genetic information to create offspring= cloning |
| recessive | the trait is inherited only if the offspring inherits 2 copies of the allele for that trait (represented by lower case letters) |
| dominate | the trait is inherited as long as he offspring receives at least one copy of the allele for that trait (represented with capitol letters) |
