| Uniformitarianism | A theory that states that geological processes that happen today have always happened |
| Abrasion | The grinding away of rocks by rocks |
| Oxidation | Process in which a chemical comes in contact with oxygen |
| Permeable | Able to be passed through |
| Ice wedging | Process in which water freezes in cracks and expands |
| Mass movement | Sediment moving down hill |
| Runoff | Water that flows over the surface rather than sinking into the ground |
| Flood plain | Land next to a river that floods |
| Meander | River with a curvy path |
| Oxbow lake | Meander that stoped |
| Alluvial fan | Runoff at the bottom of a mountain |
| Delta | Land where sediment deposits |
| Glacier | Make ice and snow |
