TermDefinition
Competition When living things try to get the same limited resource, like food, water, or space.
Predator An animal that hunts and eats other animals.
Prey An animal that is hunted and eaten by another animal.
Resource Anything an organism needs to survive, such as food, water, shelter, or sunlight.
Territory An area that an animal defends as its own.
Adaptation A trait or behavior that helps an organism survive and compete in its environment.
Scarcity When there is not enough of a resource (like food, water, or space) for all organisms.
Niche The role or job an organism has in its ecosystem (how it survives and gets resources).
Symbiosis A close relationship between two different species that live together (sometimes helpful, harmful, or neutral)
Dominance When one animal is stronger or more powerful and gets first access to resources.
