Organism Survival
| Term | Definition |

| Ecosystem | all the living and non-living things that interact with each other in an environment. |
| Population | all the living things that belong to the same group and live in the same area |
| Organism | any living thing, plant, animal, fungus, bacteria, etc |
| Biotic | a living thing that grow, change or reproduce (humans, animals, plants, bacteria & fungi) |
| Abiotic | non-living things that DO NOT grow, change and reproduce, such as rocks, water, soil, minerals, air and sunlight (SWARMS) |
| Flow of energy | the transfer of energy through a food chain or web, beginning with the producer |
| Food chain | the path of food energy from one organism to another in an ecosystem. |
| Food web | a connection of food chains with many energy paths |
| Producer | an organism that uses sunlight to make its own food for energy |
| Consumer | organism that gets energy by eating other organisms |
| Decomposer | an organism that gets energy by eating dead organisms |
| Predator | an organism that hunts and feeds on other organisms |
| Prey | an organism hunted and caught for food |
| Survivor | to continue to live in spite of danger |
| Interaction | behavior in, near or with something |
