TermDefinition
Natural Resource raw materials and substances found in nature that are used by humans to survive, create energy, or manufacture products
Renewable Resource Resources that can be replaced in a short amount of time. (Soil, sun, crops, people, plants, trees, air, animals and water)
Nonrenewable Resource Resources that cannot be replaced quickly. It takes millions of years. (Coal, oil, natural gas, silver, gold, diamonds, aluminum and gems)
Reducing using less of something
Reusing using something again
Recycling processing certain materials so they can be remade into new products
Pollution the introduction of harmful materials into the natural environment, making land, air, and water dirty and unsafe
Conservation the responsible management, protection, and preservation of natural resources to prevent them from being wasted or destroyed
Fossil Fuels these are formed from the remains of prehistoric animals and plants that were buried in layers of rock and subjected to large amounts of heat and pressure
Deforestation the large, permanent removal of trees and forests by humans, usually to repurpose the land for agriculture, ranching, or development
