What about the door made Jonas uncomfortable? Why? the door was locked. It made him uncomfortable because no doors in the community were ever locked.
why is the Receiver worried that he may neglect to tell things as clear as he should? He has so many memories. Describing the process is strange to the Receiver because he cannot talk about it with anyone else.
What is the old man’s job? to transmit all of the memories of the past (of the whole word -not just his own)
What. Memory did the old man’s share with Jonas? He transmitted the memory of snow and going downhill on a sled.
Why was it exhausting for the old man to share the memory? He is exhausted because he has to dig and go way back many generations/memories to find it
Why did Weather become obsolete it made growing crops unpredictable and difficult. It wasn’t practical
Now that Jonas is the Receiver, what does the old man want to be called? do you think he wants to be called this? The Giver; he is giving Jonas the memories.
What feeling did Jonas awake with the next morning? he awoke excited for what was to come
why was it easy for Jonas to sit and listen when everyone else was explaining their first day of training he isn’t allowed to talk about his training
why was Jonas a minute late to his training he saw Fiona’s hair change and he stopped a moment to think about it
describe the change Jonas was experiencing He is beginning to see the color red (along with other colors)
