6.7 A Forces Acting on Objects

QuestionAnswer
Applied Force The force a person or object exerts on another object.
Force A push or pull, measured in newtons (N).
Friction The resistive force that occurs when two objects rub against each other in opposing directions.
Gravity The attractive force that exists between all objects.
Magnetism The force exerted by magnets when they attract or repel other magnets or attract magnetic objects.
Normal Force The supporting force that a surface exerts on an object in contact with it.
