| Deposition | When sediments are deposited into a specific location and remain in that location for a long period of time |
| Crust | The thin, outermost layer of the Earth |
| Inner Core | This layer of the Earth is a solid ball of iron and nickel |
| Convergent Boundary | When the Earth's plates move towards one another |
| Transform Boundary | When the Earth's plates slide past each other in opposite directions |
| Fault | The line or space that runs between two tectonic plates |
