QuestionAnswer
Agglutination Clumping of cells due to an antigen-antibody reaction.
Anemia Abnormally low level of hemoglobin or red cells in the blood, resulting in inadequate delivery of oxygen to the tissues.
Platelet (thrombocyte) Cell fragment that forms a plug to stop bleeding and acts in blood clotting.
leukocyte White blood cell.
Plasma Liquid portion of the blood.
Coagulation Clotting, as of blood.
leukemia Malignant blood disease characterized by abnormal development of white blood cells.
Erythrocyte Red blood cell.
Fibrin Blood protein that forms a blood clot.
Hematocrit Volume percentage of red blood cells in whole blood; packed cell volume.
Hemoglobin Iron-containing protein in red blood cells that binds oxygen.
Hemolysis Rupture of red blood cells
Hemorrhage Loss of blood.
Thrombcytopenia Deficiency of platelets in the blood.
Serum Liquid portion of blood without clotting factors; thin, watery fluid; serous.
