Ostomy An artifical opening in an organ of the body during an operation
Exacerbation A worsening condition
Urinary incontinence The inability to control urination, which leads to involuntary leaking
Fecal incontinence The inability to control bowel movements, which leads to leakage of stool
Contracture A condition of shortening or hardening of muscles, tendons or other tissue, often leading to restricted joint mobility
Emphysema A disorder that affects the tiny air sacs(alveoli) of the lungs
Ethical standards The principles, values and rules that guide behavior within a profession or society
Legal standards Enforceable rules established by government
Justice Treating people fairly and equally regardless of race, age, culture etc.
Beneficence Doing good for person in your care by preventing harm and promoting health
Nonmaleficence The duty to do no harm to a person
Work ethic A set of moral principles, values and beliefs that guide your attitude and behavior toward your job
Professional An individual who has specialized skills, knowledge and qualifications in a specific field
Values A cherished belief or principle
Morals What you consider right or wrong
Ethics Moral principles that govern a person's behavior or the conducting of an activity
Intubation The insertion of a tube via the mouth or nose into the trachea(windpipe) to deliver oxygen or medication
