hypothesis an idea or explanation that is based on observation and that can be tested.
question a problem to be tested or solved through an experiment.
independent varible factors that can be changed by the person change in the independent varible.
dependent variable variable that change as a result of a change in the independent variables.
control group a group that serves as a standard of comparison with another group to wich the control group as identical exept for one factor.
controlled experiment an experiment that contains a control group.
conclustion the decision or answer to the questoin, based on data of obervations.
accurcy how closr a measurement is to the ture vale of the thing being measurements.
precision the exactness of the measurement.
error an exression of the amount of imprecision or variation in a set of mesurements.
model a description, representtation or imitation of an oject, system, process, or concept.
conceptual model verbal or graphical models that represent how a system works or is organized.
mathematical model mathematical equations that represent a way a system or processes or complex systems.
computer model the use of a computer to represent simple processes or complex systems.
peer review the process in which experts in a given field examine the results and conclusions of a scientists study before the study is accepted for publication.
theory the explanation for some phenomenon that is based on observation, experimentation,and reasoning, that is supported by a large quantity of evidence, and that does not conflict with sny existing experimental results or observations.
