Movement in Ecosystems

TermDefinition
Organisms living things. All plants and animals are organisms
Food Web Shows how matter moves through an ecosystem
Consumers Organisms that eat other organisms
Producers Organisms that make their own food using energy from the sun. Most plants are producers; they make their own food using photosysnthesis.
Decomposers Organisms that break down dead plants and animals into smaller pieces and recycle the nutrients back into the ecosystem.
Ecosystem a community of living and nonliving things that interact with each other in a particular environment.
