QuestionAnswer
What kinds of organisms do photosynthesis? Photosynthesis is done only by green plants.
When does photosynthesis occur? Photosynthesis occurs during the day, or when there is light.
What are the inputs and outputs of Photosynthesis? The inputs are carbon dioxide, sunlight, and water, and the outputs are oxygen and glucose. However, glucose is not really an output, because the creating of glucose is the main reason that photosynthesis occurs.
Once the glucose is created, what are the three things that the plant does with them? The plant can use them immediately, store them as starch, or store them as cellulose.
What is the formula for photosynthesis? 6CO2+6H2O+Sunlight--> C6H12O6+O2
Why do plants do photosynthesis? They do it to make or create food for themselves.
What are the parts of the cell where photosynthesis happens in? The chloroplasts.
What is the green pigment in the chloroplasts that interacts with sunlight called? Chlorophyll.
What (who)are the organisms that do cellular respiration? Cellular respiration is done by both plats and animals.
Why is cellular respiration done? It is done so the cells can get enough energy to stay alive.
When/How often is cellular respiration done? It is done day and night, 24/7.
What is the part of the cell that is the most important part to cell. resp.? The mitochondria.
What is the cell. resp. formula? C6H12O2+O2-->CO2+H2O
What are the inputs/outputs of cellular respiration? The inputs are glucose and oxygen and the outputs are carbon dioxide and water.
Why is this process important? Because enough energy must be given to the cells to stay alive, because animals do not make their own food.
Abe Golding Period 3
What is glucose? Glucose is sugar created by the pants, which is then transported to the mitochondria, which splits it into ATP (energy).
What is ATP? ENERGY!!!
