Chapter 4 Lesson 2

TermDefinition
Tissue A group of single cell that performs a specific function.
Organ Is made up of different tissues.
Radial symmetry A body plan in which any number of imaginary lines can be drawn through a central point to divide it into two mirror images
Bilateral symmetry A body plan in which a single imaginary line divides the body into left and right side that our mirror images of each other.
Describe an animals body plan tissues, organs, and organ systems.
Describe how the structure of animals are related to their symmetry. Animals with out symmetry=simple, special cells, no tissues Radial symmetry = complex body plan , with tissues, with organ system. Bilateral symmetry equals organ systems
Describe what asymmetrical body type means and give an example of an animal They have no symmetry, for example most sponges
Describe what asymmetrical body type means and give an example of an animal They have no symmetry, for example most sponges
Describe what radial body symmetry means and give an animal example an animal has many Imaginary lines can be drawn through a central point to divide into two mirror images example a jellyfish.
Describe what bilateral body symmetry means and give an example of an animal an animal with only one line of symmetry can be drawn to divide it into halves that are mirror images..

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
