light sends rays up to help illuminate the specimen
base supports the microscope
fine adjustment knob raises and lowers the stage for exact focusing
coarse adjustment knob raises and lowers the stage
stage clip holds the slide in place
arm supports the upper part of the microscope
eyepiece where the viewer looks, typically has a 10x lens
