How the Earth's surface Changes

QuestionAnswer
Which rapid process makes new land masses? The hardened volcanic rock forms new Earth material and often makes the volcanic mountain larger.
What is a volcanic eruptions? When Earth material called lava comes out of the volcano flows down the side of the volcanic mountain (or is sent up into the air and lands nearby) where it hardens.
What causes a landslide? Water soaking into the ground often makes this happen.
What are landslides? When earth materials, like rock, sand, and soil,on the side of a slope or cliff drop down to a lower location.
What natural events causes sudden changes to the Earth's surface? earthquake, flood, volcanic eruptions, and landslides
Which processes most directly create soil by breaking, splitting, and cracking rocks over a period of time? weathering
Which type of rock would be the most likely to contain a fossil? Sedimentary Rocks such as limestone, sandstone, and shale
How does the earth surface change? by rapid processes(earthquakes, landslides, floods, and volcanic eruptions)and slow processes ( weathering , erosion, and deposition)
WHich natural event that changes the surface of the Earth can be defined as a trembling or shaking movement of the earth's crust? earthquake
