| pokaryotic | smallest, simplest cells that make up a single cell organism and lack a nucules |

| nucules | the control center of the cell, holds the DNA |
| mitochondria | a bean shaped organelle that releases energy from glucose molecules for the cell to use |
| cell membrane | barrier around the cell that controls what goes in and out of the cell |
| vacuole | large storage organelle found in plants stores water, food, and sometimes waste |
| chloroplast | organelles in plant cells that store chlorophyll where light energy is turned into glucose during photosythesis |

| cell divison | when a parent cells duplicates it contents and then divides into 2 new cells |
| DNA deoxyribonucleic acid | genetic information that is located in the nucules, and is passed form parent to offspring |
