Microbiome all of the microorganisms that live in a particular environment, such as the human body
Cells a tiny structure that make up all living things and are the smallest units able to perform life functions

Bacteria tiny organisms that are made of a single cell

Scientific Argument a claim supported by evidence
Claim a proposed answer to a question about the natural world
Organisms living things, such as plants, animals, and bacteria
Microorganisms an organism that is too small to be seen with the naked eye
Evidence information about the natural world that is used to support or go against a claim
Reasoning the process of making clear how ones evidence can support their claim
Microscopic too small to be seen with the naked eye
Nucleus the control center of the cell, holds the DNA
Vacuole Larger storage organelle found in plants, stores water, food, and sometimes waste
Cell Membrane Barrier around the cell that controls what goes in and out of the cell
Mitochondria bean shaped organelle that releases energy from glucose molecules for the cell to use
Prokaryotic smallest, simplest cells that make up single cell organism and lack a nucleus
Eukaryotic cells containing specialized internal organelles
Cell Division When a parent cell duplicates its contents and then divides into 2 new cells
Chloroplast organelles in plant cells that store chlorophyll where light energy is turned into glucose during photosynthesis
Ribosomes organelle that makes proteins for the cell
Cytoplasm gel like substance that fills the cell
DNA Deoxyribouncleic Acid genetic information that is located in the nucleus, and is passed from parent to offspring
