specialized cells It’s just a cell is a. Cell perform a specific function.
organ system Direct body activities and processes; An organ system is a group of organs that work together to perform a major function.
Vacuole A sack inside a cell that acts as a storage area.
organ A body structure that is composed of different kinds of tissues that work together.
unicellular made up of a single cell.
Organelle a tiny cell structure that carries out a specific function within a cell.
Multicellular made up of multiple cells
Motocondia Rod shaped structure that convert energy in food molecules to energy the cell can use to carry out its functions
Endoplasmic Reticulum A cell structure that forms a maze of passengeways in which proteins and other materials are carried from one part of the cell to another.
Lysosomes a small, round cell structure containing chemicals that break down large food particles into smaller ones.
Golgi body a structure in a cell that receives protein and other newly formed materials from the endoplasmic reticulum, packages them, and distributes them to other parts of the cell.
Cell membrane A cell structure that controls which substances can enter or leave the cell.
nucleus Self structure that contains nucleic acids, the chemical instructions that direct all the cells activities.
Ribosome A small green like structure in the cytoplasm of a cell where proteins are made.
cytoplasm The thick fluid region of a cell located inside the cell membrane(in prokaryotes) or between the cell membrane and nucleus(In eukaryotes).
list what is inside the nucleus Nucleolus, and chromatin is in a nucleus.
describe the difference between animal and plant cell structures Animal cells don't have cell walls, they have a different type of vacuole, and one doesn't have chloroplasts and chlorophyll.
describe what the endoplasmic reticulum does for the ribosomes Some newly main proteins are released through the wall of the ER. From the interior of the ER, the proteins will be transported to the golgi bodies.
Where ribosomes are made and why they are so important they are made in the nucleolus and they (ribosomes) are so important because they make proteins for us

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
