Cell The basic unit of structure and function in living things.
Microscope An instrument that makes small objects look larger.
cell theory A rigid layer of nonliving material that surrounds the cells of plants and some other organisms
Describe what a cell does. Takes in nutrients, converts them into energy, carries out specialized functions, and eliminates wastes.
State what cell theory says. A fundamental unifying principle of biology.
Name the scientists and their discoveries. Robert Hooke = he was the first to observe and name cells. Antoine van Leeuwenhoek = was the first to observe living cell. Matthias Schlseiden = cell wall was the basic structural unit of all plant life. Theodor Schwann = that all living bthings are made
