the study of magnetic forces.

| variable | something that can be changed and may be measured |
| isolate | to separate or set apart |
| model | an object, diagram, or computer program that helps us understand something by making it simpler or easier to see |
| system: | a set of interacting parts forming a complex whole |
| energy | the ability to make things move or change |
| kinetic energy | the energy that an object has because it is moving |
| magnetic field | an invisible area of force surrounding magnets, electric currents |
| magnetic field line | imaginary lines that visualize a magnetic field, showing its direction and strength |
| refute | prove a statement to be wrong or false |
| convert | to change from one type to another. |
| potential energy | the energy that is stored in an object or system |
