galaxy a system that includes of a lot of stars, gas, dust, and planets, held together by gravity.
milky way the galaxy that contains our solar system
star a large ball of hot gases that gives off light and heat, that each have different brightness, color and size.
sun the star at the center of our solar system, everything in our solar system revolves around this star and it provides energy for Earth.
solar system The Sun and all the objects that orbit it, including planets, moons, asteroids and comets
planet a large round object that orbits a star and has a clear orbit (path)
revolution one complete orbit around another object
orbit the path that an object takes as it moves around another object
rotation A planet spinning on its axis
gravity a force that pulls objects
moon a natural satellite that orbits a planet, these do not orbit the sun.
asteroids small, irregular shaped rocks that orbit the sun, made of mostly rock and metal
Earth the 3rd inner planet in our solar system
comets made of ice, dust and rocky material, and appear to have a long tail.
