Unit 7: Water Cycle
| Term | Definition |

| Water Cycle | The way that water moves on, above, and through the Earth. |
| Evaporation | A slow change from a liquid to a gas called water vapor. |
| Condensation | To change from a gas to a liquid. This is how clouds are formed. |
| Precipitation | When water falls from the sky as rain, snow, sleet, or hail. |
| Runoff | When water runs from a high elevation to a low elevation. |
| Accumulation | When water collects in one area forming a body of water such as a puddle, river, lake, stream, pond, or ocean. |
| Transpiration | When liquid water inside of plants turns to vapor and evaporates. |
| Percolation | When water soaks into the ground. |
| Liquid to Gas | Evaporation. |
| Gas to Liquid | Condensation. |
| States of Matter | Solid, Liquid, Gas. |
| Groundwater | Water from precipitation that is stored in the pores of soil and rocks. |
| The Sun | The driving force in the water cycle. |
| The Ocean | The main source of water for the water cycle. |
| Water Vapor | Water in the form of a gas. |
| Collection | Another word for accumulation. |
