TermDefinition
Tropism A plant’s growth response toward or away from a stimulus.
Hormone A hormone produced by a plat is a chemical that affects how the plant grows and develops.
Photoperiodism A plant’s response to seasonal changes in the length of night and day.
Critical night length Is the number of hours of darkness that determines whether or not plant will flower.
Dormancy Is a period when the organisms growth or activity stops.
Three stimuli that produce plant responses. Touch gravity and light.
Give a example of both positive and negative tropism. Positive is when a plant grows toward it and a negative is when a plant does not grow near it.
Describe what triggers a plant to flower. a seed
Why dormancy Is important. Helps plants survive freezing temperatures and the lack of liquid water.
