Force and Motion

TermDefinition
Force A push or pull that causes an object to move, stop, or change direction
Balanced Forces Forces that have the same strength
Unbalanced Forces Forces that have different strengths
Gravitational Force A noncontact force of attraction that pulls two objects towards each other
Frictional Force A contact that force that pushes against objects in motion
Independent Variable The one thing you can change on purpose to test it (I changed it)
Dependent Variable The change you measure or observe (It depends on what I changed)
Constant The part that stays the same to keep it fair (I keep the same)
Variable A factor that can change in an experiment
Push Applying force on something in order to move it away
Pull Applying force on something in order to move towards or with you
