| Decomposer | An organism that breaks down dead plant and animal matter. They enrich the soil. (ex: fungi, bacteria, worms, insects) |
| Fungi | Plant like organisms that get energy from other organisms which may be living or dead. Fungi cannot make their own food. (Ex: mold and mushrooms) |
| Bacteria | A type of single cell organism |
| Producer | Organism that uses energy from the sun to make its own food (ex: plants) |
| Food Web | Overlapping food chains in a ecosystem. (Tiger eats a deer, deer eats grass) |
| Consumers | Eat other organisms for food. (Ex. Quail eat plants and insects) |
