Decomposer

TermDefinition
Decomposer An organism that breaks down dead plant and animal matter. They enrich the soil. (ex: fungi, bacteria, worms, insects)
Fungi Plant like organisms that get energy from other organisms which may be living or dead. Fungi cannot make their own food. (Ex: mold and mushrooms)
Bacteria A type of single cell organism
Producer Organism that uses energy from the sun to make its own food (ex: plants)
Food Web Overlapping food chains in a ecosystem. (Tiger eats a deer, deer eats grass)
Consumers Eat other organisms for food. (Ex. Quail eat plants and insects)
