| energy transfer | the movement of energy from one object to another |
| equal forces | forces that act together on an object without changing its motion |
| friction | a force between surfaces that slows objects or stops them from moving |
| gravitational force | a noncontact force of attraction that pulls two objects towards each other |
| unequal forces | forces that cause an object to start or stop moving |
| test | to find out the nature or quality of something |
| interaction | to have contact with something through touch or actions |
| pull | applying force on something in order to move towards or with you |
| push | applying force on something in order to move it away |
| variable | a factor that can change in an experiment |
| constant | the part that stays the same to keep it fair (I keep the same) |
| dependent variable | the change you measure or observe (it depends on what I change) |
| independent variable | the only thing you change on purpose to test effect (I change it) |
| frictional force | a contact force that pushes against |
| force | a push or pull that causes an object to move, stop, or change direction |
| balanced force | forces that have the same strength (power) |
| unbalanced force | forces that have different strengths (power) |
