Conduction the transfer of energy as heat through a material
Convection the movement of matter due to differences in density; the transfer of energy due to the movement of matter
Heat the energy transferred between objects that are at different temperatures
Radiation the transfer of energy as electromagnetic waves
Thermal energy the total kinetic energy of a substance's particles
Energy transfer the movement of energy from one object or place to another
Input information, material, or energy added to a system or process
Kinetic energy the energy of an object that is due to the object's motion
Output information, material, or energy resulting from a system or process
System a set of interacting parts that work together; sometimes considered distinct from their surroundings only for the purpose of study
Temperature a measure of how hot (or cold) something is; specifically, a measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles in an object
Molecule a group of atoms that are held together by chemical forces
