Modified Bed Bath

Face and one arm, hand and underarm

QuestionAnswer
First Step Adress Client by name introduce self to Client by name. Explain the procedure clearly and thoroughly.
Second Step Provide Privacy
Third Step Cover Client with bath blanket
Fourth Step Remove gown ensuring Client is covered. Place gown in soiled linen container.
Fifth Step Check water temperature, have Client check water temperature
Sixth Step After checking water temperature and before washing Client, put on gloves.
*SEVENTH STEP Beginning with eyes, wash face from inner to outer with a wet washcloth (no soap). Use different part of cloth for each stroke.
Eighth Step Dry face with clean dry cloth
Nineth Step Expose one arm and place towel under it
Tenth Step Applies soap to wet washcloth
Eleventh Step Washes fingers, hands, arms and underarms in long continuous strokes. Use different part of cloth for each stroke.
Twelfth Step Rinses and dries fingers, hand, arm and underarm.
Thirteenth Step Dress Client in clean gown
Fourteenth Step Empty, rinse, and dry basin. Place it in designated area.
Fifteenth Step Dispose of linen in dirty linen hamper without contaminating self
Sixteenth Step Remove and dispose gloves. Wash hands after removing gloves.
Seventeenth Step Signaling device is within reach and bed is in low position. Skill Completed.
