Earth's Rotation Space

Apparent Movement appears to move, but is not actually moving
Axis Imaginary line about which an object rotates on
Cycle A repeating pattern
Day A 24-hour Period
Rotation/Spin The spinning of a planet or moon on its axis
Sunrise When the Sun appears to rise from the horizon in the morning on the East side.
Sunset When the Sun appear to go down on the horizon in the evening, usually on the West side.
Revolve/Orbit To move around another object in a circular path.
North The direction needed for a compass to follow.
Shadow A dark area or shape produced by a body coming between rays of light and a surface.
Noon 12pm or mid-day. The sun is usually directly overhead.
Dawn The first appearance of light in the sky before sunrise.
Dusk The darker stage of twilight as the sun goes down.
Position A place where someone or something is located or has been put.
