| Homeostasis | The body’s ability to maintain stable internal conditions despite changes in the external environment. |
| Negative Feedback | A response mechanism that reverses a change in a controlled condition to maintain balance (e.g., body temperature regulation). |
| Biomolecule | Any molecule produced by living organisms, including carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids. |
| Enzyme | A protein that speeds up chemical reactions in the body without being used up in the process. |
| Cell Membrane | The semi-permeable barrier that surrounds the cell and regulates what enters and leaves. |
| Mitosis | The process of cell division that produces two identical daughter cells used for growth and repair. |
| Epithelial Tissue | Tissue that covers the body surfaces, lines organs, and forms glands; functions in protection, absorption, and secretion. |
| Osteoblast | A bone cell responsible for forming new bone tissue during growth and healing. |
| Myosin and Actin | Protein filaments that interact to produce muscle contraction and movement. |
| Synovial Joint | A freely movable joint that contains synovial fluid to reduce friction between bones (e.g., knee, shoulder). |
