Biomolecule A molecule produced by living organisms, such as carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids, that are essential for life functions.
Cell Membrane A semi-permeable barrier made of a phospholipid bilayer that controls the movement of substances into and out of the cell.
Homeostasis The process by which the body maintains a stable internal environment despite external changes
Osmosis The diffusion of water across a selectively permeable membrane from an area of low solute concentration to high solute concentration.
Epithelial Tissue Tissue that covers body surfaces, lines internal organs, and forms glands; functions include protection, secretion, and absorption.
Osteoblasts Bone-forming cells responsible for producing new bone matrix and aiding in bone growth and repair
Actin and Myosin Protein filaments in muscle fibers that interact to produce muscle contraction through the sliding filament mechanism.
