QuestionAnswer
What is control in an experiment? Control is a sample that goes through each step, without including the variable being tested.
What is control group? It is a sample in an experiment that goes through each step, but does not expose the factor being tested.
What is a dependent variable? It is what you measure in the experiment and what is effected during it. The dependent variable responds to the independent variable. So therefor you cannot have a dependent variable without an independent variable.
What is an experiment? It is a test or procedure done to determine or discover a fact or general truth.
What is an experimental group? It is a group of participants in a study that receive the experimental or study intervention.
What is a Hypothesis? It is a assumption or guess to what will be the outcome in an experiment. It can tested by obtaining more data.
What is an independent variable? It is a factor that can be manipulated or varied in an experiment. Is usually what will affect the dependent variable.
What is a procedure? It is a description of how the experiment will be carried out.
What is reliability? It is the consistency of a set of measurements or of a measuring instrument.
What is sample size? Is the number of units(persons) in a population to be studied. The sample size should be big enough to have a high likelihood of detecting a true difference between two groups.
What is a scientific method? It is a method of of investigation involving observation and theory to test scientific hypotheses.
What is a theory? It is a opinion or assumption based on little information or experience.
what is validity? Is the extent in which a measurement, test, or study measures what it purports to measure.
