| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Sample | A Measurement of amplitude at a certain point on the analogue sound wave. (Later converted to a binary value) |
| Sample rate | How often samples are measured each second. (Measured in Hz) |
| Sample resolution | The number of bits used to store each sample. |
| Amplitude | Volume of a sound wave. |
| Sampling | The process used to digitise analogue sound waves. |
| What is a Quantization error? | Data that is lost when the analogue sound wave has been converted to binary. |
| What happens if the Sample rate is High? | Sound quality will be better than if sample rate was low. |
| What happens if the Resolution is High? | Size of digital sound file will be large |
| TRUE or FALSE the quality of the sound file is effected by Resolution and Sample rate | True |
