Deposition When wind, water, or ice drop off bits of rock, soil, or sand in a new place, building up layers over time.
Erosion The process where soil, rock, or sand is worn away and moved to another place by forces like wind, water, or ice.

Bedrock The solid rock layer found beneath soil and loose rocks on the Earth’s surface.
