Aqueous solutions

QuestionAnswer
Solvent The substance that dissolves another substance.
Solute The substance that dissolves in a solution.
Solution A mixture where one substance is dissolved in another.
Concentration How much solute is dissolved in a solution.
Dilution Making a solution weaker by adding more solvent.
Saturated A solution that cannot dissolve any more solute at a given temperature.
Unsaturated A solution that can dissolve more solute.
Dissolving The process where a solute mixes evenly in a solvent.
