| Scientific Method | A series of steps a Scientist uses to solve a problem. |
| Problem or Purpose | Always stated as a question. |
| Research | Gather information. |
| Hypothesis | Educated guess or prediction. |
| Experiment | Tests your hypothesis. |
| Control | Standard for comparison. |
| Independent Variable | The factor being tested. |
| Dependant Variable | What is being measured. |
| Constant Variables | The factors that remain the same for all setups. |
| Observations | Obtained by using your 5 senses. |
| Data | Obtained from your observations. ā Chart ā Graph |
| Analyze data | Needed to get a conclusion. |
| Conclusion | Answers the problem. |
| Repeat | To confirm the experiment by doing it multiple times. |
| Quantitative Analysis | Relating to numerical data ex: the desk was 10cm long, there are 10 students in this room. |
| Qualitative Analysis | Relating to descriptions and the five senses, observations ex: the chair is brown, the sky is blue, the desk is hard. |
