Reductionism (Give an example) Breaks complex systems into smaller parts to study them in detail - EX: Studying DNA to understand how genes control traits.
What is a Theory A well tested, widely excepted explanation for a broad range of results - EX: Theory of evolution, explained how species change over time based off of examining the species that have changed.
What is a Hypothesis A proposed explanation for a specific question - EX: If plants receive more sunlight they will grow taller.
