Milli The Metric unit that represents thousandths
Centi The Metric unit that represents hundredths
Meter The Metric unit for length
Controlled Experiment a test in science where you change only one thing (called the variable) at a time, while keeping all the other things the same
Independent Variable the one thing you can change or control, like the amount of water you give plants, to see if it affects something else.
Dependent Variable the thing you measure to see if it changes because of something else.
Control what you keep the same for all parts of your experiment to make sure you're only testing one thing at a time.
Scientific Method a step-by-step way to solve problems and answer questions by observing the world, making an educated guess (a hypothesis), doing an experiment to test that guess, and then looking at the results to draw a conclusion.
